Cornbread dressing
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 4 item
- margarine - 1/3 c
- pepper - 1 tsp
- chopped onion
- chopped celery - 1 c
- sage - 2 tsp
- poultry seasoning - 1 Tbsp
- broth - 4 c
- chicken or turkey broth - 4 c
- broken cornbread - 6 c
- broken biscuits or white bread - 4 c
How to make cornbread dressing:
Soak cornbread and biscuit pieces in 4 cups broth. Melt margarine. Add celery and onion; cook until tender. Add with eggs to cornbread mixture. Add 4 cups broth and seasonings; mix well. Bake in a shallow uncovered pan at 325° for 1 hour. Makes 12 cups.Recipe categories: Christmas, Side dish, Stuffings Dressings.
