  • salt - 2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 4 item
  • margarine - 1/3 c
  • pepper - 1 tsp
  • chopped onion
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • sage - 2 tsp
  • poultry seasoning - 1 Tbsp
  • broth - 4 c
  • chicken or turkey broth - 4 c
  • broken cornbread - 6 c
  • broken biscuits or white bread - 4 c

How to make cornbread dressing:

Soak cornbread and biscuit pieces in 4 cups broth. Melt margarine. Add celery and onion; cook until tender. Add with eggs to cornbread mixture. Add 4 cups broth and seasonings; mix well. Bake in a shallow uncovered pan at 325° for 1 hour. Makes 12 cups.
