Cornbread dressing
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- chopped onion - 1/2 c
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- melted butter or margarine - 1/3 c
- crumbled cornbread - 4 c
- hot chicken or turkey broth - 3 c
- dry bread crumbs I use white loaf bread, crumbled - 4 c
- sage or 2 tsp - 1 tsp
How to make cornbread dressing:
Combine bread crumbs, cornbread, onion and seasonings in a large bowl. Mix well. Blend in broth, butter and milk. Mixture will be very soft to allow for loss of moisture during baking. Add more broth if necessary. Spoon dressing into a greased pan. Bake at 350° about 1 hour or until well browned. Serves 12.Recipe categories: Christmas, Side dish, Stuffings Dressings.
