Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- oil - 1 item
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- pepper - 1/8 tsp
- parsley
- can whole kernel corn - 1 oz
- shortening, melted - 1 Tbsp
How to make corn fritters:
Heat 1 1/2-inches fat to 375°. Sift flour and next 3 items together. Combine egg, milk and shortening. Pour into flour mixture and stir until just smooth. Add parsley and corn; drop by tablespoons into hot fat. Fry 3 to 5 minutes, turning as they rise. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve hot with syrup.
