Ingredients/Components
- medium size head cabbage - 1 item
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- medium onion - 1 item
- green pepper - 1 item
- chopped celery - 1 c
- white sugar
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- vegetable oil - 3/4 c
How to make coleslaw:
In a 9 x 13-inch cake pan, chop cabbage and spread out until about 1 1/2 inches thick. Spread salt over the surface. Do not stir for 1 hour. Stir, then chop onion, pepper and celery. Add to cabbage. Boil together the sugar, vinegar and oil; pour over the cabbage mixture while boiling hot. Do not stir until cold. Refrigerate.Recipe categories: Time to make, < 30 mins, Salads.
