Cole slaw dressing
Ingredients/Components
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- dry powdered mustard - 1 tsp
- dash of cayenne red pepper - 1 item
- slightly beaten egg yolks - 2 item
- milk - 3/4 c
- apple cider vinegar - 1/4 c
- butter
How to make cole slaw dressing:
Mix flour, sugar, salt, mustard and cayenne. Mix egg yolks and milk; stir in flour mixture. Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly, until thickened. Then add apple cider vinegar and butter. Mix into dressing and cool. Makes one cup.This will scorch if heat is too high. Remove from heat as soon as butter is melted. If you don't put it on the slaw when it is hot, you may want to beat it with a mixer before putting it in the slaw. If slaw is too thick, add a little milk to the mixture.
