Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1 c
- Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp
- coconut flavoring
- Beat well
How to make coconut pound cake:
Cream sugar and Crisco; add eggs. Beat well. Add flavoring. Sift dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients with buttermilk. Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325°.Coconut Pound Cake Sauce:2 c. sugar1 c. water2 Tbsp. Karo syrup1 tsp. coconut flavoring3 Tbsp. butter Mix all together. Cook 5 minutes.
