Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- beaten egg - 1 item
- milk for drop biscuit, increase milk to 3/4 c - 2/3 c
How to make cloud biscuits:
Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg and milk; add to flour and mix all at once. Stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Turn out on lightly floured surface; knead gently with heal of hand, about 20 strokes. Roll dough to 3/4-inch thickness and cut with floured cutter. Place on ungreased pan 3/4-inches apart for crusty biscuits, close together for soft sided. Bake at 450° for 10 to 14 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Breakfast, Rolls/biscuits.
