Cinnamon rolls
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/8 c
- cinnamon
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 5 c
- brown sugar
- butter - 1 item
- water
- melted butter - 1/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/8 c
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- yeast - 1 pkg
- powdered milk - 6 Tbsp
- Glaze:1/2 box powdered sugar
- water or milk enough to make spreading consistency - 1 item
How to make cinnamon rolls:
Cinnamon Mix:1 c. brown sugar1/2 c. white sugar1 1/2 Tbsp. cinnamon Glaze:1/2 box powdered sugar1/4 c. melted butter water or milk (enough to make spreading consistency) Dissolve yeast and 3/8 cup sugar in lukewarm water. Add melted shortening and beaten egg. Add flour, powdered milk and salt; mix thoroughly. Cover; let rise until double in a warm place. Work down and roll to 1/4-inch thickness. Brush with butter.Cinnamon Mix: Sprinkle Cinnamon Mix and roll up lengthwise. Cut into 12 (2 1/2-inch) rolls. Place on greased tray; let rise until double. Bake in a 400° oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Brush with powdered sugar glaze.
