Ingredients/Components

  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 1 Tbsp
  • cider vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • chili powder
  • can tomato sauce - 1 oz
  • small onion, chopped - 1 item
  • lean ground beef - 1/2 lb
  • ground cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • bay leaves - 2 item
  • pinch of ground red pepper - 1 item
  • toe garlic - 1 item
  • can peeled, whole tomatoes - 1 oz

How to make cincinnati chili:

In large saucepan, cook ground beef and onion until onion is tender and ground beef is no longer pink. Drain fat from meat. Add the remaining ingredients; stir well. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf and garlic toe. Serve over hot, drained spaghetti noodles. Top each serving with grated Cheddar cheese. Leftovers are great!
