Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 5
- salt - 1/3 c
- water - 1 pt
- vinegar - 3/4 c
- carrots, sliced - 6 item
- small onions - 1 item
- turmeric - 2 tsp
- stalks celery, diced - 3 item
- string beans - 1 qt
- heads cauliflower - 2 item
- peppers, diced - 12 item
- lima beans Great Northern - 1 qt
- tiny sweet pickles - 1 item
How to make chow chow:
Make a juice of sugar, vinegar, water. salt and turmeric. Pour over vegetables. Add sweet pickles and mix well. Pour into jars. Heat in canner for 10 to 15 minutes to seal. You can double the juice recipe if you would like.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, North american.
