Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 3 Tbsp
- vinegar - 1 qt
- allspice - 1 Tbsp
- ground cloves - 1/4 tsp
- dry mustard - 3 Tbsp
- onions, chopped - 8 item
- green peppers, chopped - 4 item
- heads of cabbage, chopped - 4 item
- green tomatoes, chopped - 12 lb
- large cucumbers, chopped - 8 item
How to make chow chow:
Mix all chopped vegetables. Mix with salt and sugar; let sit overnight. Add the final four ingredients. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Place in sterilized jars and seal. Place in boiling water for 5 minutes.Recipe categories: Condiments, etc., Vegetables, North american.
