  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 6 Tbsp
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • cocoa - 3 heaping
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • box powdered sugar - 1 lb
  • cube margarine - 1 item
  • Put margarine, cocoa, water and shortening in heavy saucepan and bring to boil

How to make chocolate sheath cake:

Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl. Put margarine, cocoa, water and shortening in heavy saucepan and bring to boil. Pour mixture over dry ingredients and mix together well. Add remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour into prepared (greased and floured) 11 x 16-inch pan. Bake 20 minutes at 400°.Frosting:1 cube margarine3 1/2 heaping Tbsp. cocoa6 Tbsp. milk1 lb. box powdered sugar1 c. chopped nuts1 tsp. vanilla Start 5 minutes before cake is done. Use same saucepan which you used for cake mixture. Bring margarine, cocoa and milk to a boil. Add remaining ingredients. Pour immediately over hot cake. Let cool and cut into squares.
