Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- milk - 6 Tbsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 4 Tbsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- stick butter - 1 item
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- beaten eggs - 2 item
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
How to make chocolate sheath cake:
Sift flour and sugar together in a large bowl. Put butter, Crisco, cocoa and water in a saucepan; bring to a rapid boil. Pour over flour mixture; stir well. Beat eggs and buttermilk; stir in soda and cinnamon. Add to chocolate mixture; mix well. Pour into greased and floured 11 x 16-inch pan. Bake 25 minutes at 400°.Begin icing 5 minutes before cake is done. In saucepan, melt butter, cocoa and milk; bring to boil. Remove from heat; add sugar, vanilla and pecans. Beat well and spread on hot cake in pan.
