Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 3/4 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- evaporated milk - 3/4 c
- water - 3/4 c
- cocoa
- 9-inch baked pie shell - 1 item
How to make chocolate pie:
Combine cocoa, cornstarch and sugar in top of a double boiler. Add milk, water and slightly beaten egg yolks; stirring well. Cook over medium heat until thick. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into baked pie shell. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add 4 tablespoons sugar and beat well. Pour over pie. Bake at 425° until brown.Recipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
