Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • vanilla
  • milk - 1/3 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • confectioners sugar
  • heavy cream - 1 c
  • eggs, separate yolks from whites - 6 item
  • ladyfingers - 3 doz
  • cubes unsweetened chocolate - 6 item

How to make chocolate mousse cake:

Melt chocolate; add egg yolks, milk and regular sugar to chocolate. Stir until smooth. When mixture starts to thicken, take off heat and allow to cool.

Melt butter in microwave. Mix butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla with an electric mixer until smooth. Beat egg whites; add salt and mix until whites peak. Take cooled chocolate mixture and combine with butter mixture. Beat with electric mixer for 1 to 2 minutes. Fold egg whites into chocolate mixture. Grease bottom of spring-form pan. Place ladyfingers vertically around pan. Put half mixture into pan, then make a layer of ladyfingers, then put on the rest of the mixture. Chill for 24 hours in the refrigerator before serving. Serve with whipped cream.
