- Pillsbury Fudge Cake Mix - 1 pkg
- can cherry pie filling - 1 oz
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- In a large bowl, combine listed ingredients
- margarine or butter - 5 Tbsp
- milk - 1/3 c
- pkg - 1 oz
How to make chocolate cherry cake:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine listed ingredients. Stir by hand until well mixed. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes and frost (if desired) while warm. Nuts can be added to this if desired.Frosting:1 c. sugar5 Tbsp. margarine or butter1/3 c. milk1 (6 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips In small saucepan, combine first 3 ingredients. Cook until it comes to a boil, stirring constantly. Stir one minute longer. Remove from heat. Add chips. Stir until smooth, and frost cake while it is still warm.Variations: This cake can also be prepared using Devil's Food cake mix. You can also substitute apple pie filling and yellow cake mix for a change. It will be very most and keeps several days. Also, substitutions may be made for a frosting of your choice. Example: cream cheese icing can be used for the apple pie and yellow cake combination.
