  • sugar - 2 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1 c
  • cocoa - 5 Tbsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • plain flour - 2 c
  • Crisco - 1/2 c
  • eggs, well beaten - 2 item
  • stick oleo - 1 item
  • Mix next three ingredients in a bowl

How to make chocolate cake:

Heat to melt the first four ingredients in saucepan. Mix next three ingredients in a bowl. Pour melted ingredients into dry ingredients in bowl. Beat well, adding milk, eggs and baking soda. Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool.Icing:1 box confectioners sugar1 stick oleo4 Tbsp. cocoa1 tsp. vanilla6 Tbsp. milk Sift the confectioners sugar in bowl. In pan, melt the oleo and cocoa; add vanilla and milk. Add this mixture to sugar and mix well. Pour over cake.
