Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • butter - 1 Tbsp
  • dairy sour cream - 1 c
  • chopped onion - 3/4 c
  • ground beef - 1 lb
  • shredded Cheddar cheese - 3 c
  • clove garlic 2 is better - 1 item
  • tomatoes or 1 pt
  • cans beanless chili with meat 4 c - 2 oz
  • grated Parmesan cheese I use more - 1/4 c

How to make chili-ghetti:

In large skillet, melt butter and brown garlic, onion and beef. Drain off excess fat, then add tomatoes and chili. Simmer for about 45 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti and drain. Remove meat mixture from heat; stir in Cheddar cheese until melted. Fold in sour cream. Combine spaghetti and chili mixture, mixing well. Turn into a 9 x 13-inch pan. I always end up with more than a 9 x 13-inch pan will hold, but a shallow pan is better than a deep pan, because the top gets crusty. Top with Parmesan cheese; bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Yields 8 to 10 large servings.
