Ingredients/Components
- salt
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- chili powder - 3 Tbsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- ground beef - 2 lb
- can tomato paste - 1 oz
- ground cumin - 1 Tbsp
- cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
- can tomatoes - 1 oz
- whole cloves - 6 item
- medium onions, chopped - 3 item
- garlic cloves, crushed - 2 item
- can green chilies - 1 oz
- cans red kidney beans, drained - 2 oz
How to make chili beans:
In Dutch oven heat oil, add onions and garlic, saute until tender, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Spoon off fat. Add tomatoes, paste, chilies and seasoning. Simmer, covered, over low heat, stirring occasionally for about 2 hours. Add drained beans to chili. Cook until heated through.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Main dish, One Dish meal.
