Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • oil - 2 Tbsp
  • chili powder - 3 Tbsp
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • can tomato paste - 1 oz
  • ground cumin - 1 Tbsp
  • cayenne pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • can tomatoes - 1 oz
  • whole cloves - 6 item
  • medium onions, chopped - 3 item
  • garlic cloves, crushed - 2 item
  • can green chilies - 1 oz
  • cans red kidney beans, drained - 2 oz

How to make chili beans:

In Dutch oven heat oil, add onions and garlic, saute until tender, 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Spoon off fat. Add tomatoes, paste, chilies and seasoning. Simmer, covered, over low heat, stirring occasionally for about 2 hours. Add drained beans to chili. Cook until heated through.
