Ingredients/Components

  • water - 2 qts
  • bay leaf - 1 item
  • dried basil - 1/4 tsp
  • whole chicken - 1 item
  • whole peppercorns - 6 item
  • celery stalk - 1 item
  • carrot coarsely chopped - 1 item
  • small onion quartered - 1 item
  • cup fresh parsley chopped - 1/4 item

How to make chicken stock:

Cut up chicken. Add gibblets, if avalible. Combine all ingredients in a large soup kettle. Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Strain.
