Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2/3 c
- salt - 1 Tbsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- water - 3 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- parsley flakes - 1 tsp
- bay leaf - 1 item
- medium onion - 1 item
- peppercorns - 4 item
- chicken bouillon - 3 or
- frying chicken, cut up - 2 to
- carrots, sliced thinly - 4 item
- stalks celery, cut into 1-inch pieces - 2 item
How to make chicken stew:
Dumplings:1 1/2 c. flour2 tsp. baking powder2 tsp. salt1 tsp. parsley flakes2/3 c. milk1 egg, slightly beaten2 Tbsp. oil In 4-quart glass casserole, combine first 8 ingredients. Microwave on High 24 minutes, stirring once. Add carrots. Combine 1/4 cup flour and 1/2 cup water. Stir into chicken mixture. Microwave, covered, on High for 8 minutes.In medium bowl, combine first 4 Dumpling ingredients; add milk, egg and oil and mix just until dry ingredients are moist. Remove bay leaf and peppercorns. Remove meat from bones. Spoon Dumplings by rounded tablespoonfuls onto hot chicken mixture. Microwave on High 6 more minutes or until Dumplings are not doughy on underside.
