  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • packed brown sugar
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • sifted flour
  • oleo - 1 stick

How to make chewy butterscotch bars:

Melt butter in saucepan. Add sugar and bring to boil over low heat, stirring constantly. Cool slightly. Drop in eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add vanilla and sifted dry ingredients. Stir in the nuts. Pour into the pan (bottom rubbed with butter). Bake in a moderate oven (350°) for about 30 minutes. Cool. Cut into squares.
