Cherry winks

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1/2 c
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk
• salt - 1/4 tsp
• flour - 1 c
• butter - 1/3 c
• baking powder - 1/2 tsp
• baking soda - 1/4 tsp
• well beaten egg - 1 item
• finely chopped nuts - 1/2 c
• crushed corn flakes
• grated lemon peel - 1 tsp
• chopped raisins - 3/4 c
• candied cherries, halved - 1 item

How to make cherry winks:

Combine flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Cream butter, lemon peel, vanilla and sugar. Add egg and milk. Beat thoroughly. Add dry ingredients. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop from teaspoon, small balls into crushed cornflakes. Arrange on a greased cookie sheet and top with cherry halves. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes.
