Cherry winks

Ingredients/Components

• sugar - 1 c
• eggs - 2 item
• vanilla - 1 tsp
• milk - 2 Tbsp
• shortening - 3/4 c
• self-rising flour
• pecans - 1 c
• dates, chopped - 1/2 c
• corn flakes, crushed - 1 c
• maraschino cherries, halved - 1 item

How to make cherry winks:

Blend all ingredients together, then roll the cookie mixture in the crushed corn flakes. Put cookies on cookie sheet and place the halved cherries in the center of cookie; bake at 375° for 15 minutes.
