Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 1 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- well beaten egg - 1 item
- well drained cherries - 1 can
- salad oil* - 1 tsp
How to make cherry torte:
*This is correct: 1 teaspoon, not tablespoon.Mix dry ingredients; add cherries, egg and salad oil. Mix well. (This takes about 5 minutes until sugar is dissolved.) Place in 8-inch square pan or one of equivalent size. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes. Delicious with whipped cream and stays moist for several days.
