Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- almond extract - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder
- shortening - 3 Tbsp
- 5 oz - 1 lb
- Gold Medal flour - 1 c
- toasted slivered blanched almonds - 2 Tbsp
How to make cherry cobbler:
Heat oven to 400°. Combine pie filling and almond extract in ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole. Place in oven 10 to 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Measure flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into bowl. Add shortening and milk. Cut through shortening 6 times. Stir in almonds; mix until dough forms a ball. Drop dough by 6 spoonfuls onto hot pie filling. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until biscuit topping is golden brown. Serve warm. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Desserts, Fruit, Cobblers and crisps.
