Cheesy chicken chowder
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chicken broth
- prepared mustard - 1 tsp
- medium onion, chopped - 1 item
- shredded cheese - 1 c
- cubed cooked chicken - 1 c
- Bring to a boil
- corkscrew macaroni or other small pasta - 1/3 c
How to make cheesy chicken chowder:
In large saucepan, stir together frozen vegetables, chicken broth, onion, mustard and pepper. Bring to a boil. Stir in macaroni; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, 7 to 10 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.Sauce:1 3/4 c. milk1 c. cubed cooked chicken2 Tbsp. flour1 c. shredded cheese Stir in 1 1/2 cups milk and chicken. Stir remaining milk into flour until smooth. Stir into chicken mixture, cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 1 minute more.
