Cauliflower au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter - 6 Tbsp
- heavy cream
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- cayenne pepper - 1/8 tsp
- shredded Swiss cheese
- chopped, cooked ham - 1/2 c
- chopped, fresh parsley - 3 Tbsp
- head cauliflower, broken into florets - 1 item
How to make cauliflower au gratin:
Preheat oven broiler. In a large skillet, saut garlic and ham in butter over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add cauliflower. Stir and cook until tender but still crisp. In a small bowl, combine cream, flour, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Blend well with whisk. Slowly stir flour mixture into skillet. Cook and stir until thickened. Simmer 1 additional minute. Pour into a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Place under broiler until lightly browned, about 2 to 4 minutes.
