Cauliflower au gratin
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 6 Tbsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- whipping cream
- chopped fresh parsley - 2 3
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- pinch of cayenne pepper - 1 item
- to 2 garlic cloves, minced - 1 item
- head cauliflower, broken into florets - 1 item
- cooked ham, chopped - 4 oz
- 4 to 6 oz
How to make cauliflower au gratin:
Melt butter in a large skillet. Saut?© garlic and ham for 2 minutes. Add cauliflower and cook just until crisp-tender. Combine flour and cream; stir into skillet and blend well. Add salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly; cook and stir 1 minute more. Pour into a 2-quart baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese. Place under a preheated broiler until lightly browned, about 2 to 4 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve immediately. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.Recipe categories: Side dish, Main dish, Casseroles.
