Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- water
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- grated carrots - 2 c
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- shortening
- sifted flour - 2 c
- raisins - 1 c
- finely chopped walnuts - 1 c
- cloves - 1/2 tsp
How to make carrot cake:
Mix all ingredients together, except flour, baking soda and walnuts. Boil 5 minutes. Cool thoroughly. Add flour, soda and walnuts. Pour into greased and floured iron skillet. Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Carrots.
