Carrot cake

Ingredients/Components

• sugar
• cinnamon - 1 tsp
• water
• nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
• grated carrots - 2 c
• baking soda - 1 tsp
• shortening
• sifted flour - 2 c
• raisins - 1 c
• finely chopped walnuts - 1 c
• cloves - 1/2 tsp

How to make carrot cake:

Mix all ingredients together, except flour, baking soda and walnuts. Boil 5 minutes. Cool thoroughly. Add flour, soda and walnuts. Pour into greased and floured iron skillet. Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.
