  • eggs - 4 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • soda - 2 tsp
  • grated carrots - 4 item
  • vinegar - 1/2 tsp
  • self-rising flour
  • white Karo syrup - 1 Tbsp
  • nuts, chopped fine - 1 c
  • Wesson oil
  • This makes 3 layers of cake

How to make carrot cake:

Mix all ingredients in usual way. This makes 3 layers of cake. Bake in 325° oven for about 45 minutes.Icing:1/2 c. milk1 c. sugar1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup1 Tbsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. vinegar2 tsp. soda Mix all ingredients and bring to a boil. This amount is sufficient to spread between layers and on top of carrot cake.
