Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- corn syrup
- cream - 2 c
- few grains salt - 1 item
- butter or butter substitute - 1 c
How to make caramels:
Boil all together except the nuts and 1 cup cream. Boil 30 minutes. Add the second cup of cream and boil to a firm ball stage (248°). Add nuts and pour without stirring into well buttered pan. When cold, cut in squares. Wrap each square in waxed paper.Recipe categories: Desserts, Candy, American.
