Caramel corn
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- firmly packed brown sugar - 2 c
- corn syrup light or dark - 1/2 c
- popped popcorn - 6 qt
- butter 2 sticks - 1 c
How to make caramel corn:
Melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil without stirring 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popcorn. Mix well. Turn on oven at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. Break apart and store in tightly covered container.
