vanilla - 1 tsp
granulated sugar - 1/2 c
pkg - 1 oz
salt - 1/2 tsp
chopped nuts - 1/2 c
baking powder - 1/2 tsp
egg - 1 item
unsifted flour - 1 c
firmly packed brown sugar - 1/4 c
butter or shortening, softened - 1/2 c

How to make chocolate chip cookies:

Beat butter, egg, sugars and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add dry ingredients; blend well. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets 2-inches apart. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
