Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- sticks margarine - 2 item
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- corn syrup - 1/2 c
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
How to make caramel corn:
Combine first 5 ingredients in large saucepan. Bring to a boil for 3 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda. (It will foam.) Stir well and pour over about 2 large skillets of popcorn. May add nuts. Divide mixture onto cookie sheets and bake at 200° for 1 1/2 hours, stirring every 15 minutes.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, American.
