Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 c
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- oleo - 1 c
- popped popcorn - 5 qt
- light Karo - 1/2 c
How to make caramel corn:
Melt butter; add brown sugar, Karo and salt. Bring to boil for 5 minutes. Remove from stove and add soda and vanilla. Pour over corn and mix. Bake in oven 1 hour at 250°. Stir every 15 minutes. (This dries the syrup on the corn so it will separate.) 250° may be too hot in some ovens, so 225° or 200° might be sufficient.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Snacks, American.
