Caramel brownies
Ingredients/Components
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- evaporated milk - 2/3 c
- butter or margarine, softened - 3/4 c
- German chocolate cake mix - 1 pkg
- bag caramels - 14 oz
- real chocolate chips - 16 oz
How to make caramel brownies:
Remove wrappers from caramels and combine with 1/3 cup milk; melt and stir. Combine cake mix with remaining milk and butter. Mix dough until it holds together. Stir in nuts.Press 1/2 of cake mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 6 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the crust. Crumble remaining cake mixture over the caramel mixture. Return to oven and bake 15 to 18 minutes longer. Cool. Cut into squares. Yields 2 dozen.
