  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 2 c
  • white Karo syrup - 2 Tbsp

How to make buttermilk candy:

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Combine all ingredients, except vanilla and pecans. Cook to soft ball stage; cool. Beat until creamy. Add vanilla and nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper. Makes 3 dozen.
