Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- brown sugar - 1 c
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- can pork and beans - 1 item
- can kidney beans - 1 item
- slices bacon - 6 item
- can yellow wax beans - 1 item
- can butter beans - 1 item
- can lima beans - 1 item
- can French green beans - 1 item
- mustard yellow - 1 Tbsp
- can Durkee French fried onions - 1 item
How to make buffet bean bake:
Preheat oven to 350°. In a medium skillet, fry bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet, crumble and set aside. Drain all but 2 tablespoons of drippings from skillet. Add packed brown sugar, vinegar, salt and prepared mustard. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine drained butter beans, French green beans, pork and beans, lima beans, yellow wax beans, kidney beans, 1/2 can of French fried onions and hot sugar mixture. Spoon in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 30 minutes. Top with bacon and rest of onion. Bake 5 minutes more to brown.
