Bubble bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 4 Tbsp
- cinnamon - 4 tsp
- milk - 3/4 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- shortening - 4 Tbsp
- stick butter - 1 item
- warm water - 1/4 c
- cake yeast - 1 item
How to make bubble bread:
Scald milk; let cool. Add yeast to warm water. Blend shortening, sugar and eggs. Add to milk. Mix flour and salt with other ingredients, forming a soft dough. Let rise in a warm place until double in size. Punch down and let rise again. Melt the butter. Combine the sugar and cinnamon. Dip walnut-size balls of dough in melted butter, roll in sugar mixture. Drop in a greased angel food pan. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake in 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Turn out on plate. Pull balls off when ready to serve.In memory of Virginia Stephens.
