  • sugar - 4 Tbsp
  • cinnamon - 4 tsp
  • milk - 3/4 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • shortening - 4 Tbsp
  • stick butter - 1 item
  • warm water - 1/4 c
  • cake yeast - 1 item

How to make bubble bread:

Scald milk; let cool. Add yeast to warm water. Blend shortening, sugar and eggs. Add to milk. Mix flour and salt with other ingredients, forming a soft dough. Let rise in a warm place until double in size. Punch down and let rise again. Melt the butter. Combine the sugar and cinnamon. Dip walnut-size balls of dough in melted butter, roll in sugar mixture. Drop in a greased angel food pan. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake in 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes. Turn out on plate. Pull balls off when ready to serve.
