Brown sugar pound cake
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 2 Tbsp
- chopped pecans - 1 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1/2 tsp
- large eggs - 5 item
- margarine, softened - 1 c
- plain flour - 3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- white sugar - 1/2 c
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition
How to make brown sugar pound cake:
Cream margarine and Crisco; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine baking powder and flour; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Bake in a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes and invert to cool completely.
