Ingredients/Components

  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • stick margarine - 1 item
  • baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  • dark brown sugar - 1 c
  • large eggs - 5 item
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • white sugar - 1/4 c
  • sweet milk - 1/4 c
  • pecans, chopped - 1 c
  • maple flavoring - 1/2 tsp
  • box light brown sugar - 1 item
  • Icing:1 stick margarine
  • box xxx sugar - 3/4 item

How to make brown sugar pound cake:

Icing:1 stick margarine1 c. dark brown sugar1/4 c. sweet milk3/4 box xxx sugar Mix sugars, Crisco and margarine and cream well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add flour and milk alternately. Add flavor and nuts. Cook in a large cake pan at 250° for 2 hours or 325° for 1 1/2 hours. Do not open oven door until cooking time is up.

Icing: Mix ingredients. Bring to boil. Add 3/4 box xxx sugar. Beat until smooth and spread over cake.
