- all-purpose flour - 1/2 c
- margarine - 1/4 c
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp

- half and half or evaporated milk - 1 c

How to make broccoli cheese soup:
Bring 6 cups water to a boil. Add broccoli and onion. Reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Add cheese and seasonings, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in milk, half and half and butter. Cook over low heat until thoroughly heated.Combine flour and 1/2 cup cold water, stirring until smooth. Add gradually to the soup mixture, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring occasionally.
