Bread stuffing for turkey
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- butter - 1/2 c
- hot water - 1/2 c
- pepper - 1/2 tsp
- chopped onions - 1/2 c
- poultry seasoning - 1 Tbsp
- parsley, chopped fine - 1/4 c
- stale bread crumbs - 12 c
- celery leaves, chopped fine - 1/4 c
How to make bread stuffing for turkey:
Put 1/2 cup butter in a heavy frying pan. Add onions and cook over low heat until soft. Do not brown. Mix together bread crumbs, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning, parsley and celery leaves. Add onions and moisten with balance of butter melted in hot water. Mix thoroughly and stuff the bird.For 14 pound turkey approximately.
