Ingredients/Components

  • water
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • onion, chopped - 1/2 c
  • minced garlic - 1 tsp
  • barley - 1/2 c
  • thyme - 1/4 tsp
  • stalks celery, diced - 2 item
  • large carrots, diced - 2 item
  • large can Primeburger - 1/4 c
  • dried split peas, rinsed and drained about 10 oz

How to make split pea and barley soup:

Put all ingredients in a 3 to 4-quart pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, about 1 hour. When peas begin to fall apart and vegetables are tender, soup is done.
