  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • milk - 1/2 c
  • salt - 1 item
  • flour - 1 c
  • baking powder
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 1/4 c
  • blueberries - 1 pt

How to make blueberry upside-down cake:

Pour washed blueberries into a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole and sprinkle with the 1/4 cup sugar. In mixing bowl, cream shortening, the 1/2 cup sugar and 1 egg together. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Add this to creamed mixture alternately with the milk. Bake at 375° for 45 minutes. Test. Spoon out while hot and serve with cream, whipped cream, ice cream or milk.
