  • butter - 1 c
  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 2 item
  • flour - 4 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • berries - 1 c
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • nutmeg - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • sour milk - 1 c
  • soda, dissolved in 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp
  • nuts - 1/2 c
  • firmly packed brown sugar
  • milk - 1/4 c
  • confectioners sugar

How to make blackberry cake:

Caramel Icing:3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar5 Tbsp. butter1/4 c. milk1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add flour and spices which have been sifted together alternately with milk. Fold in berries and nuts gently. Bake 35 minutes at 350°.

Caramel Icing: Place packed brown sugar in a saucepan. Add butter and bring to a boil. Then add milk and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and when slightly cooled, add confectioners sugar and vanilla. Beat until right consistency to spread.
