Ingredients/Components
- butter - 1 c
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- flour - 4 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- berries - 1 c
- allspice - 1 tsp
- nutmeg - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- sour milk - 1 c
- soda, dissolved in 1/2 tsp - 1 tsp
- nuts - 1/2 c
- firmly packed brown sugar
- milk - 1/4 c
- confectioners sugar
How to make blackberry cake:
Caramel Icing:3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar5 Tbsp. butter1/4 c. milk1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat well. Add flour and spices which have been sifted together alternately with milk. Fold in berries and nuts gently. Bake 35 minutes at 350°.Caramel Icing: Place packed brown sugar in a saucepan. Add butter and bring to a boil. Then add milk and boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and when slightly cooled, add confectioners sugar and vanilla. Beat until right consistency to spread.
