Beef stroganoff
Ingredients/Components
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- onion - 1 item
- to 1 stick margarine - 1/2 item
- round steak - 2 lb
- large carton sour cream - 1 item
- to 1 1/2 cans water - 1 item
- can mushrooms plus liquid - 1 item
- cans consomme or bouillon - 2 item
How to make beef stroganoff:
Trim all the fat off the round steak. Cut in squares; put in paper bag with flour. Shake to coat well. Brown beef in pan with 1/2 to 1 stick margarine. Work with spatula until well browned. Salt and pepper meat. Add the consomme or bouillon and the water. Cover tightly in slow cooker; simmer until tender (bubbly boil about 1 hour).In frypan, saute onion in butter. Add the mushrooms and liquid; set aside. At the last minute, add the sour cream. Serve over noodles.
