Beef stew
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- flour - 1/4 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- hot water - 1 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- bay leaf - 1/2 tsp
- can tomato sauce - 2 oz
- medium potatoes - 6 item
- carrots, sliced - 6 item
- thyme - 1/8 tsp
- small onions, chopped - 6 item
- green peas - 1 c
- lean stew meat - 2 lb
How to make beef stew:
Season meat with salt; roll in flour. Brown slowly in oil in heavy saucepan. Add hot water, tomato sauce and seasonings. Cover tightly. Simmer gently, about 1 1/2 hours. Add potatoes, carrots and onion; cook 45 minutes longer. Add peas last 10 to 15 minutes cooking time.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Stew.
