- flour - 1 item
- water - 4 c
- oil - 2 Tbsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- catsup - 1 c
- carrots - 5 item
- potatoes - 3 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- bay leaves - 3 item
- onions - 3 item
- stew beef
How to make beef stew:
Coat meat with flour and brown in oil with one sliced onion. Add water and bay leaves. Simmer for one hour. Add catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer for 45 minutes. Add vegetables and cook until tender (30 to 40 minutes). If desired, add one tablespoon cornstarch to 1/4 cup cold water, then add to gravy to thicken.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Stew.
